Ler em Português

A few weeks ago, N. summoned us.He had big news and wanted the gang all together. In anticipation, I imagined various scenarios. Is he going to asks us to go watch Pacific Rim together? Is he and sweet A. tying the knot? Does he want to institutionalize Saturday as board games day? Is he only kidding and all he wants is to grab a few beers with us?

Although I thought about everything, I wasn't prepared to hear him say that he was going to move back to Lisbon. I know it's "only" a 3 hours drive, but the distance isn't only in the time it takes to get there. It's also in our lives and routines that get in the way. Inevitably, living in Lisbon or Tokyo is going to feel the same in our daily lives.

I even tried to boycott is moving by giving him a chocolate cake. It didn't work :(

I only hope that he comes back soon. Permanently. And that he brings A. with him.

:: Aqui há umas semanas, o N. convocou-nos. Tinha notícias importantes e quería-nos todos juntos. Na antecipação, imaginei imensos cenários. Será que nos vai convidar para o Pacific Rim? Será que ele e a querida A. vão dar o nó? Será que quer institucionalizar o Sábado como board games day? Será que está na tanga e só quer mesmo beber umas minis com o pessoal?

Apesar de ter pensado em tudo e mais alguma coisa, eu não estava preparada para o ouvir dizer que em agosto ia voltar para Lisboa. Sei que são “só” 3 horas de viagem, mas a distância não está só nas horas de percurso. Está também nas vidas e rotinas que se metem pelo meio. Inevitavelmente, morar em Lisboa ou em Tóquio vai acabar por ser muito parecido no dia-a-dia.

Ainda tentei boicotar a ida dele, presenteando-o com um bolinho de chocolate. Não resultou :(

Só espero que ele volte em breve. De vez. E que traga a A. com ele.
